What should I know about my library card?
Members must use their own library card to check out items and use the computers. Members are responsible for all use of his/her card. Lost library cards can be replaced with a photo I.D. and a dollar.

How many can I check out?
We have books for all ages: For adults, 50 is the total number of items that can be checked out at a time. For juveniles, the total number is 25.
Specific item totals: 10 magazines, 10 audiobooks, 5 music CDs, 5 Playaways. Adults may check out 10 DVDs at a time.

How long can I keep them?
21 days for all items except DVDs which are 7 days. There are 2 full renewals for all items except DVDs which have one renewal.

New DVDs – Only 2 new DVDs may be checked out at a time for 3 days with no renewals.

What should I know about the DVDs?
You have to be 18 to check them out. Each DVD is charge a dollar a day for each day that it is late.

All fines must be paid IN FULL before any items, including computers, are checked out.

Can I put items on hold to pick up on another day?
Yes, request holds at the desk or log into the library catalog. DVDs cannot be put on hold.

Can I request the library purchase new items?
Yes, attempts will be made to purchase items from our vendors or request items through Interlibrary Loan. Do this at the desk or log into the library catalog.

Where can I return my checkouts when the library is closed?
There is a walk up book drop in the parking lot in front of the library.

Library Outreach
Outreach is a FREE public library service that delivers books and CDs to eligible members in their homes.

Reference
We assist members in meeting their information needs through a variety of resources.

Digital Resources
eBooks, eAudios, Music, Movies, and reference materials  are available via our website 24/7.

Internet Policy
The Anderson Public Library provides access to a broad range of information sources and services for the public, including access to computers and the Internet. The Internet is a global electronic network of ideas, images, information, and commentary that enables the library to provide enhanced resources beyond the physical collection of materials owned by the Library.   Read More

How do I get on a library computer?
Computers have self-sign in. Type in your library card number and your assigned 4-digit PIN number.

Do you have wireless internet (Wi-Fi)?
Yes, and there is no password.

Can I fax, scan, or make copies?
Yes, the cost is 15 cents for each black & white copy, 50 cents for each color copy, and $1.00 for each faxed page.

Do you have a notary?
We have several notaries on staff. Please call to confirm that one will be available to you. There is no charge for this service.

Do you have a meeting room?
No, we do not have any meeting rooms at our temporary location.

Preschool Class for 3-5 year olds Monday, 11:15 am to noon
Friday, 11:15 am to noon
Family Night for all ages Monday, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Clubs for K-5 Saturday, 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Summer Reading Events are held for Toddlers (ages 1-2), Preschool (ages 3-4), and Grades K-5 (5-10)

Teens
Monthly themed programs that are all designed & developed by TAB (Teen Advisory Board)

Adults
Monthly themed programs that include free computer tutoring, free craft workshops, author talks, educational lectures, writer’s support groups, and two book clubs
