University of Kentucky Basketball fans are in for a treat as the Anderson Public Library hosts Edward Smith as famous UK basketball coach Adolph Rupp for a Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua presentation. Edward will follow the life of Adolph as if he was the coach himself.
During the 42 years Adolph coached at UK, he raised basketball to near-religious status in the Commonwealth. Rupp’s teams won 880 games, four national championships, and one Olympic gold medal.
Edward will be portraying Adolph through his life, showcasing his history as a young man as a varsity basketball player for the University of Kansas through his retirement. Attendees of the program will get to experience the legendary coach in an unique way that only a Chautauqua can bring.
The program will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 6pm. It is free to attend and registration is not required.
