Our Library Story Times offer more than just a story, we incorporate the five early literacy practices by playing, singing, reading, talking, and writing. These five early literacy practices help children to become readers.

A typical Library Story Time begins with playing the game “Little Mouse, Little Mouse,” next some fun songs to wake up our bodies while singing and dancing, then we read a book together, and afterwards we talk about the book, and have opportunities to write after Story Time.

The Library offers play at the end of Story Time and dance parties using movements and bubbles to create an extra fun time together.

Library classes begin the Monday after Labor Day through the 2nd week of May:

Toddlers (0-2yrs) 10:00-10:30AM
Preschool (3-6yrs) 11:15AM-NOON
(Extra play or dance parties immediately after Story Time!)
Family Night (all ages) 6:00-7:00PM

Preschool (3-6yrs) 11:15AM-NOON

Please note: when Anderson County Schools are closed for holidays and inclement weather, we do not have classes.
