Coronavirus Update 5/11/2020
With new guidance from Governor Andy Beshear, the Anderson Public Library is working to create a phased reopening plan. The plan will prioritize the health and safety of staff and community members.
Initially, the library will begin reopening with a curbside pickup service. Members will be able to reserve items and pick them up via a contactless system.
The library is currently acquiring the necessary personal protective equipment for staff members as recommended by the governor and the Centers for Disease Control.
The library administration will continue to closely monitor the situation and will work with state and local health officials to ensure the safety of everyone. Please watch the library's website and social media pages for future updates to when curbside pickup will begin.
With the growing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Kentucky, the Anderson Public Library will continue to remain closed until further notice. Following the guidance from Governor Andy Beshear, the library takes the situation seriously and wants to ensure the wellness and safety of its members, staff, and residents of Anderson County.
Even though the library will remain closed, all digital resources will be available to members, which includes thousands of eBooks, audiobooks, videos, and much more. Anderson County residents that aren't currently library members can apply for a special digital only card that will give access to those resources.
All library members can hold on to their checked out books and DVDs while the library is closed. All late fees will be waived and due dates will be extended during the closure.
