Pottery with Marianne Brown Mize
July 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Marianne is a local clay potter who has been enjoying working with clay since she was eight years old. She creates many works of art and also holds pottery classes.
The clay pottery class offered at the library will be set to help children learn hand and eye coordination as well as build self confidence. “I want to build their self confidence. You can’t do anything wrong with clay,” Marianne explained.
During the course of the class, the children will get to make creative face mugs using fun tools like a garlic press to create hair and toy dinosaurs to mold the clay. In the process, they’ll learn to mix colors, think in 3D, and much more. Air dry clay will be used so the clay creations won’t need to be kiln fired.
UPDATE: Registration is now full for this class. The library thanks everyone for registering and to watch for future pottery classes.
The class will be on July 21st from 10am to 12pm and will be geared for elementary school children aged from Kindergarten to 4th grade, along with those going into 5th grade. Space size is limited to 15 children, so please call the library at 502-839-6420 or visit to register.
Registrations must be in before July 15th. Please notify the library if you can’t attend.
