Lamp Maker and Potter Displays Work

Visitors of the Anderson Public Library will be treated once again to viewing amazing pieces of artwork when entering the library during the month of October.

As part of continuing its partnership with the Anderson County Arts Council, local lamp maker and potter, Cynthia Carr, has setup an incredible display at the library.  Cynthia, who is the owner of Crosswinds Pottery in northern Mercer County, creates traditional wheel thrown pottery and combines it with rustic metal to create unique lamps and lamp shades.  She also combines recycled elements to create various interesting items.

The art exhibition is designed to showcase Cynthia’s work as a mixed media exhibit.  Visitors to the library can see the lamps when entering the library through the parking lot entrance.

The arts council will also be holding a special reception with refreshments at the library this Tuesday, October 8th from 4:30pm – 6pm.  All are invited to attend.
