Be creative this summer as the Anderson Public Library hosts summer reading online! Join us as we explore the world of art, virtually.
To ensure everyone’s safety, the library designed a whole new summer reading experience. Completely held online, the Summer of Art will feature fun video performances and lots of art projects for children of all ages including tweens and teens.
The videos feature performances from many summer reading performers. These include the always favorite, Silly Safaris, as well as many others. Each video will be posted here on the library’s website as well as the new summer reading Facebook group page. The videos can be viewed at any time during summer reading.
The library also has lots of fun art projects lined up. Each family will receive a bag of supplies for each child (while supplies last). Then Ms Sherry will show how to create the projects in videos.
In addition, families can now log reading, follow activities, and win prizes online utilizing a new digital service, called Bean Stack. With Bean Stack, families and children will be able to earn badges for completing challenges and get chances to win great educational items. For families that complete all the challenges, they will have a chance to win a Walmart Gift Card. All prizes were donated by local resident, Mark Willard.
The Summer of Art Summer Reading Program starts June 29th and goes through July 12th. Register now by going to Bean Stack. After registering, a library staff member will contact you to schedule a time to pickup the craft kits through the library’s Contactless Curbside Pickup Service. All craft kits must be picked up by July 1st.
