During last week’s Board of Trustees meeting of the Anderson Public Library, the board welcomed a new trustee.
David Abner was sworn in by Board President Bryan Proctor, at the start of the meeting. David will be filling the vacancy on the board left by Jane Scott Bentley who elected not to be appointed for another term.
David, who works as an attorney at the Social Security Administration in Lexington, is glad to be able to get more involved in the community, particularly with the library as his wife, Mary Ann, served as a board member in the past.
“I wanted to be more involved here in Lawrenceburg since I am working somewhere else and wanted to be a part of the community,” he said.
In response to having a new member of the board, Board President Bryan Proctor was excited. “Truly excited about David being on the board. We’re looking forward to having his expertise as an attorney,” he said.
In addition to David joining the board, the board also held elections for officers. Board Member Sam Baker was elected to be treasurer. All other officers were reelected to their previous positions.
