Library Implements Coronavirus Prevention Steps, Waives DVD Late Fees

As the Coronavirus/COVID-19 continues to concern many in the community, the Anderson Public Library is working proactively to begin implementing a number of steps to help prevent the spread of the virus.

To encourage members who are ill to stay home, the library will begin forgiving and waiving late fees on DVDs (excluding lost and damaged item fees). All members need to do is call the library at (502) 839-6420 to renew their item and return it when they are feeling well. When returning items, members can utilize the drop box in the parking lot behind the building or they can use a secondary drop at the circulation desk.

The library is also implementing a number of sanitizing methods. All returned items will have their covers or cases sprayed with a disinfecting solution. Regularly used hard surfaces will be sanitized multiple times a day. And staff members have been directed to regularly wash or sanitize their hands.

As the situation evolves, the library will continue to update the community on its prevention plan. Community members can view the latest plan as well as local resources on the Coronavirus by clicking here.
