The Anderson Public Library is pleased to announce a newly available digital resource, perfect for local history researchers and genealogists.
Called the Sanborn Map Collection, the new resource offers historical maps of Lawrenceburg and many other cities in the state. These maps, originally commissioned by the Sanborn Map Company starting the late 1800s, showcase buildings and roads of the more populated areas of the county. Many buildings have written descriptions of what was being housed in them at the time which can be essential information for researchers.
All Anderson Public Library members can access the new resource by going to this link and entering your library card number. There are maps available from 1886 through 1927.
