The Anderson Public Library will be hosting a special series of financial empowerment classes starting next week to help build personal financial skills.
The classes, which have been organized by the Light Center of Lawrenceburg, Commonwealth Credit Union, and Blue Grass Community Action, are designed to help those struggling financially. Bryan Proctor, from the Light Center, said, “We want to help people who are struggling and facing difficult circumstances and give them the tools to help themselves become financially stable.”
Commonwealth Credit Union Assistant Branch Manager Bethany Holt will be leading a number of the classes. The credit union will also allow attendees who attend the first three classes to open a checking account with them for free, and if they attend all five classes, they will be entered in a drawing to win a Microsoft Surface and a $50 checking account.
The classes will be held at 3pm and refreshments will be provided:
10/9 – Managing Income vs Spending
10/9 – Housing Opportunities
10/16 – Opening a Checking and Savings Account
10/23 – Credit Repair
