As we get closer to Spring, join us at the Anderson Public Library for free gardening classes by local gardening expert, Cheryl Steenerson.
Cheryl will be teaching three classes on the second Saturday of March, April and May from 10am to 11:30am where she will be covering all the basics of gardening. From starting seeds to mixing up homemade fertilizers, she will get you ready for the upcoming planting season.
The first session, which will be held on March 9th, will cover the many ways to start both flower and vegetable seeds at home without a greenhouse. Some of the topics will include seed depth, moisture, heating, lights and much more. Seeds and trays will be provided.
The next session, on April 13th, will be all about pruning and planting trees and spring crops as well as homemade fertilizers, pest, and weed control methods. The final session on May 11th will cover the various types of garden beds including raised beds, containers, and more.
Supplies will be provided, but space is limited. Registration is required by calling the library at (502) 839-6420.
