Anderson County blacksmiths and metal workers, Karine and Matthew Maynard, have displayed some of their amazing work at the Anderson Public Library as part of the library’s continued partnership with the Anderson County Arts Council.
The Maynards, who are the owners of Maynard Studios, create many large and beautiful metal artworks that have been installed around the world. Their work has been featured in many international books and periodicals as one of the leading architectural artist blacksmiths teams in the world today. They have also been given prominence and won a number of awards by both the National Ornamental & Misc. Metals Association and the Artist Blacksmiths Association of North America.
Their artwork will be on display at the library through November in the display case that is near the parking lot entrance. A large artwork by the Maynards was also installed at the library during the recent expansion project. Located in the children’s area, the metalwork is inspired by the Young’s High Railroad Bridge that spans the Kentucky River from Anderson to Woodford County.
