As construction comes to a close for the expansion project of the Anderson Public Library’s Main Street location, Matthew and Karine Maynard of Maynard Studios began installing the large railroad inspired art piece that has been in planning starting from the beginning of the year.
The art piece, which flanks the archway heading to the new children’s area of the library, was designed to resemble Young’s High Railroad Bridge that crosses the Kentucky River from Anderson to Woodford County. The piece also features a sitting bench and numerous native plants and animals, subtly placed throughout the structure.
The project has been a labor of love for the Maynards as they donated their time to create the piece. It will become one of the main center pieces of the new library when it re-opens.
