The move back to Main Street is well underway for the Anderson Public Library with lots of changes happening. After finishing the expansion project last week, the library officially closed the temporary location to start moving back on Friday evening.
Now with a week of hard work from library staff members, movers, volunteers from the Friends of the Library, as well as members from the library board of trustees, thousands of books and other items have been moved very quickly from the temporary location back to Main Street.
Staff members at both locations have been loading and unloading carts weighing over 200 pounds when full of books. A total of over 200 carts and over 38,000 linear feet of books have been moved in the first week.
Director of the library, Pam Marks, is pleased with the quick progress and thanks the staff and volunteers for all the hard work.
