The Anderson Public Library’s expansion project at the Main Street location is heading to the finish line as crews work on all areas of both the new and original portions of the building.
In the original part, the biggest new feature is the grand circular fire place that will be the center piece of a large reading area for members. Overlooking the fireplace, the original stained glass window facing Main Street has been revealed as well as new carpeting has been laid down. The Kentucky History Room has also received new lights.
In the new addition, the large community room is just about finished. The rotunda area for the children’s section now has all its necessary fixtures. The outdoor amphitheater area has also been finished.
Outside, sod and landscaping is in progress and concrete curbing has been poured. New asphalt will be coming soon to complete the parking lot which now extends to the Friends of the Library building.
